‘Obsessed’ Movie Trailer Video, Photos: Beyonce, Ali Larter, Idris Elba

Here is the first official, full-length trailer for Obsessed, a suspense thriller staring Beyonce, Ali Larter and Idris Elba. The movie will be released in theaters April 24, 2009. See photos and the movie trailer here.

The movie is Beyonce’s first non-singing dramatic role.  Along with her father, Matthew Knowles, she is executive producer of the movie for Screen Gems.  Obsessed was directed by Steve Shill and written by David Loughery.

The storyline bears great similarity to that of Fatal Attraction, the 1987 classic starring Glenn Close, Michael Douglas and Anne Archer that has given our lexicon the phrase and our culture the awareness of the sometimes deadly consequences of obsession and stalking.  (See the Fatal Attraction trailer on YouTube for comparison)

This time the trio is comprised of Idris Elba, who plays Derek Charles, a successful asset manager happily married to his wife, Sharon (Beyonce Knowles).  The couple’s blissful family life (they have a young son) is shattered when a temp worker (Ali Larter) in  Derek’s office, becomes flirtatious and then dangerously obsessed with him, determined to be with him at all costs, and threatening his wife’s life.

Ali Larter stars in the highly rated NBC TV series Heroes. Idris Elba is British actor and DJ who starred in American Gangster and co-produced the soundtrack for Jay-Z.  He is also in Guy Ritche’s RocknRolla.  Rounding out the cast are Christine Lahti, Scout Taylor-Compton, Bruce McGill, Jerry O’Connell, Ron Rogge and Richard Ruccolo.
