Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey delivered performances live at the 2009 Grammy Nominations concert on December 3, 2008.  See photos and video of both performances.

The 51st Annual Grammy Award nominations were announced on live television in a prime time one-hour program with live concert performances at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The program, a first in Grammy Award history, was co-hosted by LL Cool J and Taylor Swift (who also performed). Other performers included B.B. King, John Mayer and Celine Dion.

Mariah Carey

Lil Wayne received eight Grammy Nominations, the most of any artist in the 2009 awards which will be given on February 8, 2009.  Coldplay received seven nominations, and Jay-Z, Kanye West and Ne-Yo each received six nominations. Christina Aguilera sang a stirring rendition of “I Loves You Porgy.”  Her most recent album is Keeps Gettin’ Better - A Decade of Hits, in stores now.  The compilation album includes 10 hits from her previous albums–Christina Aguilera (1999), Stripped (2002) and Back to Basics (2006)–along with two new tracks, “Dynamite” and “Keeps Gettin’ Better.”



In keeping with the holiday season, Mariah Carey performed “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).” Her her eleventh studio album, E=MC² was released earlier this year and has spawned four singles, most recently, “I Stay in Love.”
