Britney Spears delivered her much anticipated live performance on ABC Good Morning America on December 2, 2008.  Watch the performance and see photos here.  Her sixth studio album, Circus and her 27th birthday all coincide on this date.  The pop superstar performed “Womanizer” the lead single as well as the new single, “Circus.”  The crowd pleasing performance took place at the Big Apple Circus tent at Lincoln Center in New York City and was elaborately staged and choreographed, incorporating circus performers.

Dressed as a ringmaster, Spears made her entrance atop a circus wagon – accompanied by clowns, jugglers and performers dressed as circus animals. For her second number, “Womanizer,” Spears smashed through a fiery hoop.

GMA’s Robin Roberts called Spears’s appearance “our concert event of the year.”

Claimed cohost Diane Sawyer about those gathered inside the circus tent, “There are about a gazillion people [here].”

Among them: the pop star’s mother, Lynne Spears, and Britney’s two young sons, Preston and Jayden.

Britney Spears 2009 tour dates have also been announced.  The tour will include 26 cities in North American tour, and will kick off in New Orleans on March 3, 2009.  Two concert performances are also set for in London in June 2009.

Tickets go on sale Saturday, Dec. 6, and the well-choreographed Spears will begin rehearsing for next year’s must-see tour in January.
