President-elect Barack Obama and future First Lady Michelle Obama grace dual covers of Essence Magazine January 2009 collector’s issue with a special a 56 page tribute, “Celebrating the Dream.”  See the covers and a summary of articles here.   The issue hits newsstands December 12, 2008.

Included are reflections from Maya Angelou, boys at a predominantly Black elementary school, William Jelani
