Beyonce made a memorable appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on November 25, 2008 for a lively interview and a stellar live performance of “Flaws and All” and “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).” Watch the video and see photos of Beyonce at the Cadillac Records Los Angeles premiere which took place on November 24, 2008.

Ellen commended her for her standout performance at the American Music Awards 2008, and Beyonce said that she felt privileged that this was her job and she was committed to giving her all. Ellen congratulated her on her marriage to Jay-Z and, obliquely referencing her own recent marriage to Portia Di Rossi, she said “It felts great to be married, doesn’t it?” “Oh, listen to me. I’m about to start yapping,” Beyonce said when Ellen asked her how long she had been involved with Jay-Z. She acknowledged that she had been involved with him for seven years.

As for having children, Beyonce said, “One day maybe. I have my nephew and I was there in the delivery room and it kind of traumatized me” and Ellen replied, “You shouldn’t be there for that,” Ellen joked.

Beyonce said, “I told my sister that! I said, ‘Please don’t have me in the room,’” And she said, ‘You have to. I’m your sister. Stop being so silly.’ Well I was right, I’m traumatized.”

She discussed her recently released third studio album, I Am…Sasha Fierce, and the alter ego, Sasha Fierce, her stage persona. She said that songs on the I Am… disc such as “Flaws and All” are more reflective of her own self.

Beyonce also talked at length her portrayal of legendary singer Etta James in the forthcoming movie Cadillac Records, particularly the darkness of the singer’s life, including her heroine addiction.

Ellen brought up Beyonce’s recent appearance on Saturday Night Live and the now famous skit with Justin Timberlake in leotards, portraying one of her three male backup singers in “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),” and a clip of the skit was shown to viewers.
