Democratic Presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama was interviewed on BET 106 & Park, broadcast on October 20, 2008.   See the full interview and photos of Obama on the campaign trail here.

In the interview, taped on October 17, Obama spoke via satellite before a live studio audience.   He talked about dealing with the challenges the country faces — the economy, the energy crisis and the education system.  He also talked about offering young people a $4,000 tuition credit in exchange for public service.

He discussed the innovative ways the Obama-Biden campaign has used the Internet and his plans to continue this innovation if he is elected President.   He mentioned virtual town hall meetings with himself and cabinet members, as an example.  He said these were “the last two minutes of the game” and he reiterated the importance that people get out and vote in this historic election.  He encouraged viewers to “dream big dreams.”

The interview was preceded by a video montage of numerous stars– including Jennifer Hudson, David Banner, Nas, Common, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Robin Thicke–talking about Obama and expressing support of his candidacy.

Co-hosts Rocsi and Terrence J noted that since October 2007 they have been inviting Republican Presidential candidate Senator John McCain to appear on BET 106 & Park and he continues to decline.
