Music legend Chaka Khan was among the performers at Diesel xXx Rock and Roll Circus in Brooklyn, New York on October 11, 2008 The ten-time Grammy Award winner performed an exciting and much praised 15-minute set which included some of her signature hits such as “I’m Every Woman” and “I Feel for You.”
Diesel’s 30th birthday celebration was comprised of 17 parties around the world; the event at Brooklyn Waterfront’s Pier 3 was the star studded culmination, with performances from several top artists including T.I., N.E.R.D., Hot Chip, Franz Ferdinand, Joel and Benji Madden of Good Charlotte, and M.I.A.
In keeping with a traveling circus theme, the event also featured traditional circus acts such as fire eaters, trapeze artists, sword swallowing, and all-female roller derby squads. Many celebrities were in attendance, including Lindsay Lohan, “Gossip Girl” co-stars Chace Crawford and Taylor Momsen, Michelle William (formerly of Destiny’s Child) actresses Emma Roberts and Zoe Kravitz.
