Oscar winning actress and singer Jennifer Hudson made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on September 26, 2008.  She was interviewed and she performed her hit single, “Spotlight,” the lead single from her self-titled debut album which will be released on September 30, 2008. “Spotlight” was written and produced by Ne-Yo and Stargate.

In the interview, Jennifer Hudson discussed her recent engagement to David Otunga, a Harvard Law School graduate known as “Punk” from the reality show “I Love New York 2,” and she showed viewers her engagement ring.  She also discussed the upcoming movie, The Secret Life of Bees, in which she co-stars with  Queen Latifah, Alicia Keys, Dakota Fanning, Paul Bettany, and Sophie Okonedo. The movie was directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, produced by Will Smith and executive produced by his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. The movie will be released in theaters on October 17, 2008.
