R&B singer-songwriter Jazmine Sullivan, a newcomer with a remarkable, powerhouse voice, released her highly anticipated debut album, Fearless on September 23, 2008.  She was interviewed by “Yahoo! Who’s Next” (New Now) series and performed her hit single, “Need U Bad,” the lead single from the album.

In her interview, 21-year-old Jazmine Sullivan talked about her lifelong pursuit of music; she grew up in Philadelphia singing in the church choir, and with the encouragement of her mother pursued and persevered in realizing her dream.   Jazmine Sullivan wrote all of the songs on her debut album; she talked the importance of being able to connect with the audience as both a songwriter and a performer.
