Actress Kerry Washington is on the cover of The New York Post’s Page Six Magazine, September 14, 2008 issue and profiled in an article, “On Beauty, Brains, and Breakups” in which she talks about breaking off her engagement, taking charge of her career in Hollywood, and meeting Democratic Presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama, after a Democratic Presidential debate at the Kodak Theater in L.A. in January 2008 on her thirty-first birthday.

When she went backstage afterward to introduce herself to the senator from Illinois, Obama told her, “I know who you are.” It seems there really might be something to John McCain’s whole “He’s the biggest celebrity in the world” idea.  After all, even Hollywood actresses get giddy when they’re recognized by the potential leader of the free world.  “It was a great moment,” she beams.
