R&B singer-songwriter Ne-Yo performed his hit single “Closer” and his latest single, “Miss Independent” on the season finale of MTV FNMTV on August 22, 2008.  Both singles are from Ne-Yo’s highly anticipated third studio album Year of the Gentleman set for release on September 16, 2008.
