Video: Leona Lewis Performs “Better in Time” on Japanese TV

Leona Lewis delivered a stellar performance of  “Better in Time” on Japanese TV in late July 2008.  Preceding her performance, the TV program presented a video retrospective of her career, including some video footage of her performances and victory on “The X Factor” in 2006 which launched her from unknown hopeful to international stardom.

“Better in Time,” written by J. R. Rotem and Andrea Martin and produced by Rotem is the second single from Leona Lewis’ debut album, Spirit.  Released in November 2007, Spirit debuted at No. 1 on the charts in nine countries, including the United States,  the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand and Germany.

Leona Lewis was recently named as Goodwill Ambassador for UK-Japan 2008 on July 22, 2008 and was in Japan to attend the nomination ceremony.  It marked the 150th anniversary of the Anglo-Japanese Treaty of Amity and Commerce.   The campaign showcases British culture in three categories: art, science and creative industry Tokyo, Japan.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms Lewis said:

“I am really honoured to become a Goodwill Ambassador of UK-Japan 2008. I look forward to fulfilling my role as Goodwill Ambassador by making many more Japanese fans through my songs and to raising the profile of UK music in Japan.”

Since making her debut in December 2006, Leona has achieved unparalleled success on the global stage including the UK, Europe, the US and Japan, and become an inspiration to millions of music fans with her undeniable singing talent. The singer from the UK has been described as a once in 20 years miracle. She supports UK-Japan 2008.
