Hip hop artist, producer, actor and philanthropist David Banner was interviewed on BET’s 106 & Park and performed “Get Like Me” on July 17, 2008.  His highly anticipated album, “The Greatest Story Every Told” was released on July 15, 2008 and is in stores now. David Banner discussed the 22-track album which covers a wide range of subject matter, from politics to spirituality. He also talked about Barack Obama’s historic candidacy and voiced his support for his Presidential candidacy.

A day before David Banner’s album was released Billboard reported that Quincy Jones had selected him to remix his songs.

After working with the likes of Lil Wayne and T.I., MC/producer David Banner is adding Quincy Jones to his resume.

The rapper, who will release his fourth album, “The Greatest Story Ever Told,” tomorrow (July 15) via SRC/Universal, recently joined a hand-picked group who will remix selections from Jones’ catalog.

“Quincy Jones got me, Akon, Pharrell Williams and T-Pain and allowed us to choose and remake our favorite songs,” says Banner of the project, a date for which has yet to be set. “I chose ‘Give Me the Night’ by George Benson with Jamie Foxx singing it.”

While Banner has recently crafted beats for Nelly, Chris Brown and Snoop Dogg’s upcoming projects, his bigger focus was on making “The Greatest Story Ever Told” as diverse as possible.

“If you’re into political and spiritual stuff like ‘Cadillac on 22’s,’ that’s on there for you,” says Banner. “If you like street stuff, that’s on there. I tell my story of coming up to New York alone from Mississippi and being homeless in the garment district. No one’s heard that before.”
