Hopefully the Hillary Clinton campaign will pay a few bills with the Elton John concert cash. Perhaps even more bankable was Elton John’s indictment of what he called America’s “misogynistic attitudes.”

“I’ve always been a Hillary supporter. There is no-one more qualified to lead America,” he told the audience.
But he added: “I’m amazed by the misogynistic attitudes of some of the people in this country. And I say to hell with them… I love you Hillary. I’ll be there for you.”
Mrs Clinton struck a defiant note when she took to the stage to address the crowd.
he New York senator, who is trailing Democratic rival Barack Obama in the polls, echoed the title of one of Sir Elton’s hits as she said: “What I want you to know is: I’m still standing.”
The audience for the concert, Elton and Hillary: One Night Only, included Mrs Clinton’s husband, former US president Bill Clinton, and their daughter, Chelsea.
The British singer explained: “The reason I’m here tonight is to play music but, more importantly, as someone who comes from abroad and is in America quite a lot of the time and is extremely interested in the political process because it affects the whole world.” (Source.)

As for the dollars and cents….
…. [F]ans of the musician and the Democratic candidate shelled out between $125 and $2,300 for tickets.
Organizers say the event brought in $2.5 million. Clinton is trying to close a widening fundraising gap between her campaign and that of rival Democrat Barack Obama.
Last month Obama’s campaign brought in $40 million, twice as much as Clinton raised. (Source.)
Here is a BBC news report of the Elton John concert.
